The holiday season is upon us and I am so excited for all of Cooper’s firsts! This weekend we flew home to Chicago for a wedding and were able to spend some time with family. Because we live in Florida and our entire family is in the midwest, it is hard for Cooper to get in some quality cousin time. He has 4 cousins and we want him to be able to spend as much time growing up with them as he can so we go to the midwest almost any chance we get!
We made the trip home this time for a beautiful fall wedding. One of my lifelong friends tied the knot on Saturday and my husband and I were able to share in that special day with her. She was a STUNNING bride and it was such a joy to be able to share that day with her. Cooper was able to get some special grandma and grandpa time in while we went to the wedding.
We spent Sunday exploring downtown Chicago and went into Macy’s Santaland to see Santa for the kids. My niece and nephew (Mackenzie and Dominic) went with us and we were all able to see Santa. Coop wasn’t a huge fan of Santa. To be fair, it was coming up on lunchtime so some of those tears might have just been hangry tears. Nonetheless, he was happy to give Santa a high five and sit next to him (as long as he was on mommy’s lap and not Santa’s).
It is so sweet to see him experience all of these holiday traditions with us and his family. He’s at a great age to do this and to see all of the wonder, excitement, and curiosity in his eyes melts my heart. This won’t be his last Santa visit this year though. I plan to take him to Santa down in Florida as well but just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to see him in downtown Chicago! This holiday season is already more magical than ever just because Coop is here with us :).
