Yesterday was Cooper’s 2nd Valentine’s day! He was only 1 month old for his first Valentine’s day so he was much more active yesterday. He was very sweet all day and even got a rose for his Valentine! Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to see his Valentine yesterday but he is hoping to see her soon to give her the rose – hopefully there will be an update there! He is learning from his daddy how to treat someone special!
For hubby and I, we just celebrated with a night in and had steak and fried rice. It is one of my Budget-Friendly Valentine’s Date Night ideas and it was perfect. There wasn’t the added stress of having to drive somewhere in this traffic or lug Cooper to a reservation for us to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We enjoyed each other’s company and talked about our days. While that is not much different than our typical weekday dinners, we made it a point last night to really connect which helped to set it apart. Hubby even brought home flowers and ice cream! Literally the key to my heart!
Even so, we both believe that there should just be a few days a year that are dedicated to showing your partner how much you love them. We do things daily for each other to connect and remind each other of the love we have. From acts of service to quality time and everything in between, we always try to keep the love we have for each other and God at the center to keep our marriage strong and grounded. That is where our foundation for our family lies, regardless of what obstacles we face. Valentine’s Day just reminds us even more of pouring into our marriage in ways that really show how much we appreciate the other.
And, hubby is doing a great job of showing Cooper exactly how to treat the person he loves each and every day. I love him for that. Watching him become a dad has been one of the most rewarding experiences over the past year. He is doing such a great job teaching him things even at this age. They are the perfect Valentine’s for me! #coopsadventures
